Those really inexpensive boxes of wildflower seeds do work...well kind of

A couple of years ago I bought a box of wildflower seeds for a couple of bucks, literally, $2 and sprinkled it on my back hill. Then I proceeded to completely forget about it and neglect it. This year I noticed some blooms, which really surprised me. I recognize the lupines, but I'm not sure what anything else is

what a wonderful surprise! we had flowers come up by the coop but we never sprinkled seeds. :)

Those orange flowers are California poppies my friend :) Some of the other stuff looks vaguely familiar. Did you sprinkle some Western wildflower mix? And where would you find such a product so far away from the western United States?

thanks for the identification, not sure if it was a western mix, I bought it at Ocean State Job lot, which is a store that sells discount/closeout merchandise on the east coast
